The Ponderosa Inn’s blend of comfort and hospitality is a standout in Escalante.​

Circle D Motel

Our personal favorite for its vibrant atmosphere and delightful dining experience. The Pueblo Revival–style building adds a touch of southwestern charm. Its proximity to both the Escalante Petrified Forest and Bryce Canyon National Park makes it an ideal location for explorers.

Chris and I particularly enjoyed the casual restaurant and bar, where the ambiance and local flavors truly stood out. The Circle D Motel combines comfort with a dash of local culture, making it a memorable part of our journey.

The Escalante Outfitters is a place we personally stayed at and thoroughly enjoyed. The accommodations, which include cabins and rooms with shared bathrooms, offer a cozy and rustic experience. We were particularly impressed by the on-site restaurant, Esca-Latte.

Their delicious food and perfect coffee made our stay even more delightful. The property’s clean and comfortable facilities, combined with free WiFi and the opportunity for outdoor activities like hiking and fishing, make it an excellent choice for travelers seeking both adventure and comfort.

The cabins are in a garden area with fire rings, pavilions with grills, and picnic tables. Guests appreciate the cleanliness, attentive staff, and the cozy, well-maintained environment.

Our time here in our camper truck was unforgettable. The park’s campground caters well to both RVs and tents. The highlight for us was the serene lake, ideal for fishing and swimming. The views were spectacular, especially during sunset. We found the atmosphere peaceful, perfect for enjoying a campfire and unwinding after a day of exploring. The petrified wood and trails add to the park’s allure, making it a great spot for nature enthusiasts.

Kodachrome Basin State Park

Our tent camping experience at Kodachrome Basin State Park was remarkable. The park’s name, inspired by its colorful rock formations, hints at its scenic beauty. The campground is well-equipped, and we particularly loved the hiking trails.

It’s an excellent base for exploring nearby attractions like Willis Creek Slot Canyon, driving to Grosvenor Arch, or exploring Cottonwood Canyon Road. The park’s unique landscape provides a fantastic backdrop for outdoor activities and makes it a must-visit for hikers and nature photographers.

The Yonder Escalante campground, situated between Capitol Reef and Bryce Canyon, offers a delightful blend of traditional camping and luxury. The Deluxe Cabins are a treat, offering comfort in the midst of nature. You will enjoy the communal lounge and the unique drive-in theater, which add a fun twist to your stay.
